Make a character with the name (in all caps) !STRIKE!
After doing that, you will be guaranteed to get a strike on command by pressing the L1 button.
Hint: 7 - 10 Spare
To pick up the 7-10 split, edit your setup and put your strength all the way to the top. Use the rest of the points for accuracy. Now, when trying to pick it up, hit the 7-pin straight on and it will usually bounce over and hit the ten pin.
